VB.NET Developer
Summary:
We are exploring potential contract opportunities for an experienced VB.NET Developer. This role would begin as an in-office contract position with the possibility to move to a hybrid arrangement over time. While we do not have a formal job posting active at this moment, we are open to interviewing strong candidates who align with our technical needs and work style.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, enhance and maintain software solutions using VB.NET and MS SQL
- Translate application requirements, backlogs and use cases into functional code
- Ensure strong performance, responsiveness and code quality in developed applications
- Collaborate with team members across departments to support project goals
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing and support
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code
- Support unit testing, system testing and user acceptance testing
- Provide input on coding standards and best practices
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Multiple years of hands-on experience with VB.NET
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including database design
- Experience with web development, APIs and reporting tools is a plus
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, TFS or Subversion
- Understanding of application architecture and design documentation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with C# is a plus
Additional Notes:
- This is a contract position with the intent to explore long-term fit
- Candidate must be willing to work onsite initially
